I've had a few people ask about buying pumpkins???
What do you charge?
2 weeks ago,I traded a #120 nice round 1 with a garden center for 1 Gal. of Neptunes harvest and 2 containers of Captan, ($50 there retail cost).
I'm not looking to get rich, lol.
It would be nice to help buy next years supplies.

Pumpkins seem to sell for more in the US but we get $25-35 for little 1-200 pounders, $50-100 for 3-400 pounders. $200-$400 for 5-800 pounders, depending on shape and couple etc. Its got to be pretty special to get the higher price. Transportation and seeds play into this as well. If I fellow wants a 900 pounder and I have to deleiver it and pick up and or retrieve the seeds, the price goes up.

I guess I was ballpark when you figure their cost for the products.
I can only imagine the logistics of loading and unloading a 900 pounder....AAAHHH to dream.

a few years ago you could sell a giant pumpkin for $1.00 per pound. ( or more)
then giants became more available coupled with undercutting prices and they sold for 0.50 per pound.
now? you will do well to get 0.25
it may not be about the money but a considerable investment is made by many growers. its always nice to get a few bucks back.
