new grower here. My best pumpkin heading over 200 lbs has developed a small weeping spot near the stem tho not on the stem I applied capatian paste a couple of days ago and cut back some of the leaves to expose that end to some sun . We have had tons of rain and now a week of sun and the pumpkiin is growing fast perhaps too fast. Can I do anything th dry up the weeping hole? It doesent go too deeply at least I don't think so. Is this the end for me?

from what I have seen in alot of posts regarding splits and such, put a fan on it!

if it doesn't go too deep, don't worry about it. it means it's still growing.

I have loads of splits and cracks on my 1423 Wallace and still putting on the pounds. I have a couple of rather large ones I'm watching and spraying with daconil just in case. All are dry right now, so not worried at all about it, just keeping an eye on it. That pumpkin has been weeping for a while, but still growing. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Not to worry..but I would get a tarp over it and keep it dry. let the sun get to it during the day and cover it up at night again to keep the dew off...keep up with the captan....keep up with the Daconil...good Luck! GrowEmBig! Chuck
