I lost my 425 LB pumpkin yesterday- side split. Would have been new state record.

I'm sorry for your loss. Keep those seeds. What did you grow it on?

That is a major bummer. The good news is you grew a state record sized pumpkin. So, you have the knowledge and skill to break the state record. Maybe next season you'll go even bigger and it will all be worth the hard work.
If it split, I wouldn't grow those seeds again. I believe most splits are genetic, others will disagree.
Good luck next season!

Thats to bad. Just an idea..maybe next year get some proven hot weather seeds from fla or s.c. where they broke state records this year.
