Over the past few weeks I have noticed my main vine discoloring from that darkish green to having streaks of white, brownish "streaks" along the first 5 ft from the base root. I have done a little research, but still can not figure out what is happening. The rest of the plant seems to be doing great. No discoloring other than the streaks, full green leaves with no wilting or browned edges and two quickly growing pumpkins. Any ideas of what this is or how to fix it? Thanks in advance

Most main vines will start to show some signs of age, or toughening up and getting a 'woody' look to them, especially where they are not buried. Unless it's soft or looks like it's rotting you're probably okay. Best thing to do is post a pic in your diary or the gallery and include a link to that pic when you post here.

If you find any soft rotting areas check thoroughly for svb's.
