At what temperature should you start putting blankets on pumpkin to keep warm and keep growth up? we had a low of 52 deg and my growth cut nearly in half.

I try to cover under 60°,,which sadly enough is almost every night here this year :-(
It seems to help if the fruit has some heat in it from the daytime sun. When it's not cloudy :-(

we like to blanket any night that the temp will be below 60 degrees.saves the slow then go of the growth on warm mornings, could prevent splitting and stress as well also a good tip ------- if you do blanket, especially on the nights in august during the pumpkins growth peak ( first two weeks here in greene ri ) then dont be in a big hurry to take the blanket off to early in the a.m. if possible wait and remove the blanket around 8 am after the air temp has warmed a bit. --- less stress on the fruit if it does not experience a fast increase in temp ( that could aid in a blossom split )
