i have two pumpkins on one plant.the one on the main vine is 49in.cir.pollinated on 7/6.the other on a secondary is 38in.cir.pollinated on 7/8.both are doing great.should i cull the 2nd one?it is really growing great.some people say to wait.if i cull it then the other one could stop growing.what to do?thanks....how long do i wait?

keep the one on the main. secondary fruit like to trick you into keeping them because they grow so fast and then taper off....just my experience with secondary fruit versus main fruit

Roger, ihad one on the main and ona on a sidevine. they both grew the same till they hit the 400lb mark. the sidevine stoped growing and the main only gained 60lbs after that. my opinion keep the main. Bill

If I have a main set ready to go, the secondaries are always picked clean of females before. the 7/8 pollination is already taking from you main set...want that plant to wire in the main set right away..don't confuse the system by making it feed two sinks at once. the sooner the plant Knows thers only one sink on the vascular system the more likely it will funnel everything to one spot...not very scientific I know but from what I've read and observed the faster you can "Wire" that sink in..the more the plant will feed it.
