I have a pumpkin set that is 13 days old that is somewhat flat with deep ribs and what appears to be a dill ring forming about 1/3 of the way from the stem. Second pumpkin set about 4 ft beyond. Should I expect it to be as ugly? My concern is the aparent dill ring at this young age.

Didn't know if one pumpkin having a dill ring means that the rest on that plant were likely to.

that seems early for dill ring at least to me, see what the second one does, pretty sure it will look better

Ugly doesn't mean light....like a wise man once said "this aint no beauty contest". That being said, mutated is a difference story, and if you can use another that looks like it will cause less problems, go with it.
