After reading the cut the cruelty thread in general discussion, I was thankful that I had no pests like that. All of the sudden, this monday I saw two woodchucks running around near my patch. They have both been trapped. Two days, two victories. They have since been relocated to the local landfill!!

Landfill? Alive? More humane to put them out of there misery. At least find'em a nice wide open field a few miles from your patch.

Unfortunately they did not survive. I can say that they passed peacefully. The traps I used do just that. Quick and painless. Some may say it is the wrong thing to do, but so is dropping them off somewhere so they can wander over to someone elses place and pester them. I know that I would not want someone relocating rodents over toward my house.

I agree with you BIG24NUT. I'm afraid I don't have much compassion for anything eating my plants!
