Is the little pumpkin on the female flower green for a squash?

most of the time, but it"s not uncomin to have a yellow squash, but if you do have a yellow squash after you palinate it and it takes off, it will turn green

Let me see if I can remember G 101.....If it starts green and stays green it's a true squash....anything else isn't!

I have never seen a yellow AG squash. That would automatically make it a pumpkin. Some pumpkins do start green though.
