its about 20 miles off rt 95 in ct.
weigh off is in the evening. a very nice country fair as well.
matt debacco manages this gpc event so im sure he will see your post and advise

Durham is home of the Durham Fair, which as stated is a country fair in Connecticut. The weigh-off is the evening of Wed. Sept. 24th, 2008

It is a great fair and if you bring a pumpkin (regardless of its size) about 200,000 people will get to see it! There are also many other agricultural events that go on over the week-end such as tractor pulls, dairy show, horse pulls, and alike.

I really enjoy the fair and am glad that Team-Pumpkin has been able to work with the head fair people to get their giant pumpkin competition GPC certified.

The Durham Fair is also the largest Ag fair run completely by volunteers in the US so there is something to be said for everyone’s commitment.

BIG24NUT I am curious, where did you hear about Durham? (It is only about a 3hr. drive for you.)

Matt, I have just seen it mentioned on this site quite a bit. There are really no events like it here in Sullivan County NY. We have an agricultural fair like it, but no pumpkin related events. The next nearest one from here is up in Cooperstown, NY by the baseball hall of fame. other than that I have not found anything else. Cooperstown might be a little closer, but is a back country roads for me to travel. If hauling a "MONSTER"(hopefuly)and the price of fuel!!!! I'd rather take the highway!!!
