Can somebody tell me about using dilute solutions of hydrogen peroxide when soaking seeds prior to sprouting them. The reasons for doing this?

I have two basic reasons there's probably more. The first is as a sterilizer...We spend years getting our soil right and placing a contaminated seed in the soil will only shut ya down four a couple of years if some sort of bacteria iinfects your soil. soaking the seed will remove many contaminations sources. My second would be that the Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)adds oxygen into the water. does it help I'm not sure but it couldn't hurt. I'm sure others have their reasons and will post em. Chuck

deluted hydrogen peroxide is also much faster and better for cleasning your pruning knife as you move to work on your next plant.
also better than bleach to spray on suspect areas that you are trying to dry out with a fan.
( like stem splits that run into the pumpkinin )

roots need 02, and can absorb it from h2o2, so it's good stuff, but I don't know the best way to use it
