You will have a much better chance of growing 500+ from a good Atlantic Giant seed stock. Check out the seed exchange forum. There are lots of great seeds available, just for the postage.

CountyKid is right, if you want 500+ go with the AG. I have raised Big Max but they are not known to surpass 200lbs. Prizewinners will get a little more size but not the 500+.

Here is what i did one yr. i planted Ag seeds and did nothing special to the plants. I ended up with a nice one.

White pumpkin if you don't mind me saying, check the seed exchange message post, for the last 2 months or so people have been offering seeds for free (there is also one posted today, first come first served) also just post, some one will probably help you out.
