I hear through a very talented grower friend in NE Ohio that there might be someone in the Phoenix, AZ area attempting to grow giant pumpkins. My husband and I are hoping to attempt this in 2008 and would really like to discuss this with you !

His name is Ben and hes the Arizona record holder. He posts on this site and ya might be able to find him. I used to live in Arizona and the weather is gonna be your worst enemy. Youll have to start your planting early though.

One advantage you have in Arizona is the sunlight..another disadvantage is the sunlight..I gardened in Arizona for several years and ya just gotta adapt and schedule your growing time good. I think if ya got a good water source and you Arizona growers stick together and help each other out yall are gonna grow some big pumpkins out there in the heat.
