I'm going to plant two plants in 2008, and was wondering how large of a compost pile I should make? Thanks!

I buy 10 cubic yards for 2 pumpkins, each year.

Bart,
Is that 5 cubic yards each, or 10 cubic yards each? Thanks for your help.

10 cubic yards equals how many pick-up loads? (6ft bed)

Also Bart,
Do you plant the pumpkin directly into the compost, or do you till the compost in? Thanks!

10 yards is the weight limit on a six wheel dump truck. each plant gets 5 yards. It is tilled in along with all the maple leaves I can get. Pumpkins seem to like it!!

one bucket load is a yard, and pretty much fills your pickup bed

Yeah but....watch the moisture content. The average half ton truck will be overloaded with just 2 yards of compost after a rain. Get a man's truck like Bart uses if hauling a lot of stuff.
