when is it ok to pick the pumpkins so they wont rot before Halloween. I have a few nice pumpkins that some of the animals are trying to get to now and would like to get them out of the garden as soon as possible. thanks

You can pick them now and as long as you store them in a cool place they should be just fine. Ive picked field pumpkins and Prizewinners and stored them for over a month.

Wipe them weekly with a 10:1 Water and bleach solution
