What are the planting time's for fall cover crops like winter Wheat/Rye ext.. in Ohio?

I would do a winter cover crop. One that doesn't die in colder temps. Winter rye comes to mind. I planted barley last year will good results.

nic, several times in the past on this site I have read about cover crops...adding nitrogen...and all the other benefits...legumes comes to mind. Try a site search "cover crop" and see what comes up. I think several different sites were mentioned in some of the conversations, that can lead you in the right direction for a good cover crop for your area. Hope this helps. Peace, Wayne PS...if I remember correctly, some of these other sites sell a combo seed mix....several varieties of seeds mixed together for a good all round cover crop.
