Ok, am going out tomorrow, Mon. to buy some kind of fertilizer, once I find something to feed my plant I need to know how you suggest my using it. I will mix it up according to directions but then do I just spray the main plant where it is planted or do I spray the whole plant, leaves, top/bottom)?? and how often??
must add plant is looking puny but lots of new leaves growing. If I cant find any of the types of fertilizers you guys suggested I will just go with miracle gro and hope for the best!!!!!!!! I'm a worried grandma here cause this plant belongs to my grandson & grandpa & me are trying hard to save it, & we have never done this before!!!need lots of help & advice.

Miracle Grow will work fine so long as we keep the rate correct.

If this is for your grand kids then rest assured we'll do our best to help. There is no greater reward than a smiling kid who just learned something constructive.

To keep it simple; just use one Tablespoon per gallon of water one time per week. A watering can is fine for a single plant. I'd drop a couple gallons at the crown (base, stump, whatever), then a couple more along the main vine & the rooted secondary vines. You can safely douse the foliage too but only in the cool of sundown. Never put any kind of fertilizer or chemical spray on the leaves while the sun is shining. Always wait for sundown.

Yes...as the plants grow the volume of water/fert icreases but the amount of fertilizer stays the same.

Tremors right on. If your talking about the all purpose garden Miracle Grow which I assume you are its Tablespoon a gallon and remember more is not better. Miracle Grow is a good fert but with very high levels of Nitrogen. You want to feed your plant not burn it. Good luck I use Miracle Grow from time to time along with organics.

That'll be fine.

Garlic tea? This is probably supposed to be an insect repellent & not a plant food.
