Subject: Raising vines at stems?

again, this is my first year growing these beasts.
I have 1 plant, four females on her all about 25"-28" circumferences.
The vines of them at the stems are still laying on the ground. i snipped the roots at the stem.
Question: Should i raise the vine in the air level so the stem in parallel to the ground??
any info is greatly appreciated....i dont want a stem to snap.

Yes.You can block it up with styrofoam. I use nylon stockings and tie them up to a stake in the ground. I adjust them up as the pumpkin grows.

HA HA HA. Jordan my wife knows where my priorities are. lol. Are you coming on the patch tour? We have some pretty nice pumpkins going in my neck of the woods.
