I have been cutting off male flowers the night before they are about to open and when I have a female ready to open the next day as well. I am not trusting mother nature to properly pollinate (I have already lost 2 "naturals"). I thought I was going to have 2 females ready this morning, but was wrong. Can I keep their male flowers another day? or does the pollen lose its potency after a while? If so, how long? Thanks.

I have choosen to pick male flowers this year as I hate bee's and by the time I get up all the pollin is gone. I pick the male flowers that are about to open or are pretty big. I bring them inside and put them in a cup of water marked from which plant I cut it off of. When the female is ready I take the male flower out too do it's job. I have kept male flower 1 day after it opened . I have had sucsess with this. But it is up to everyone to do what they choose and have fun with this sport.
