The CIA's secret genocide in Guatemala with the full backing of the US government, went on for decades backing The United Fruit Company against the locals. What's left of this company is today known as Chiquita.
This type of behavior against fellow humanity is something that has been ongoing for many many years by many different governments. I just always thought the United States government was way better than that. I am no longer disillusioned.
Please find time to watch this if possible.
This isn't what we were taught in our history books.
Unfortunately it is the truth.

I went through Guatemala briefly, way back in 1998, and they were a bit on edge still.

These people who were accused of being terrorists simply for wanting to eat were real social justice warriors... I'm not sure the social justice warriors here in the USA have ever been in a real social justice war. I think most of the oppression people complain about is in their heads. In the USA, on the whole there's no unfair laws, the courts arent discriminatory anymore, and there arent any bogeymen calling you a terrorist just for wanting to eat.

...But hopefully the social justice warriors are still around when we get to that point.
