If you're into geology and archeology. Side note: There is a large recent crater under the Greenland ice cap (northwestern portion) which probably accounts for most of the comet debris.

Possibly way back then, the entire Mediterranean was below sea level, and (cut off from the oceans at the straight of Gibraltar), akin to the red sea today, and then flooded. Lots of puzzle pieces, a few missing, but worth the attempt to put together. He connects some of the pieces, nicely.
The reason these things dont get figured out sooner is geologists generally aren't experts in archeology, and vica versa.
