All of a sudden the 80 million COVID stockpile of shots no longer exists. How could that be and where have they gone? Nothing there for the second shot for those that got the first one. What?

Biden admin supposedly wanted to speed things up so they gambled away the second shots thinking more would arrive in time. His administration's first move (other than making hamburger out of Trump)
Newly elected captain of the Titanic says "let's speed up." It sounded like a gamble. Just impeach him and everything will be fine.

https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/biden-speed-release-coronavirus-vaccines-75134340 Those are the first three results for the Google search I did. It's in the mainstream news. Maybe impeaching Biden is part of the plan, idk.

G kitty, before you point fingers at Biden (which has no power to distribute anything but a stick of gum) look at where the Trump administration's field goal has fallen short of the goal post.
"So far, the US has fallen far short of the Trump administration’s goal of giving 20 million vaccinations by the end of 2020".

In reality, can or could either goal be made? Michigan is still rolling out new places the vaccine can be given at. Most are pharmacy's.

I doubt the Trump administration has full control at this point. Its unclear who is to blame. Probably Pfizer told Biden to make that statement. Probably it's a Pfizer f-up... and their lobby duped Biden into a scenario where he would bear the blame for some mistake they made. I'm just playing connect the dots speculation I have zero evidence. Its clear that somebody messed up big time. Who to blame... who to blame...

It was the government who said we had that many shots to give.

Fake News! I know of health care workers here in Central NY who have gotten the second dose... You can't believe the News anymore. The Media is just making everyone nervous and on edge. Some friends wives who work in hospitals have gotten the second one

Every one that I now that got the first shot are now getting the second shot. In Pa. we have all kinds of vaccines and no one to give it to until they change the mandate on who gets it. If you think that it would be any better if the party you believe in was in power your crazy. There all used car salesmen.

I work for the health dept here. Some of our guys and the EMTs got their first ones, I think most are scheduled for round two. The rules on who gets them can be messed up (at least here in NY), but I don't think that's the near term limiting factor. It will likely be mid summer before there's enough to go around for the general population.
It just amazes me that all the years of ICS training, POD distribution training, ect that I've had to endure that the feds were not better prepared. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but having a little bit of an inside track, it's crazy how things were bungled from the top right down to the locals at multiple steps along the way.

Here, we’ve (Canucks) have been clearly told that vaccine distribution would be rolled out in an orderly and timely fashion starting with the elderly, health care workers, first responders, essential workers and then the rest of us.
I’ve been told that a healthy 57 year old male, will be waiting until September of 2021 and just be patient, that is the way it’s going to be.
Nobody here (Canada) seems to be bitching or complaining and so far, everyone I know in the first categories have gotten their shots. Maybe I’m just ultra Canadian and trust our system and the people in charge.

NSB, maybe that is because there is a realization that what has been done by the drug companies and the sheer scale of the roll out is quite a thing. And no, nothing will be ever suitable for some people who just want to pick holes in something.

Yes, there are a good number of people who have gotten vaccinated and several healthcare workers I know have received both doses. At the same time, the Minnesota Department of Health has had to almost constantly revise downward the number of doses that they were expecting to receive from the feds since the rollout started. I've heard of other states having the same issues but haven't been following them as closely.
I agree with you Andy. It's disappointing that the logistics of the rollout have been so sloppy. The Phase III trials were completed and FDA approval happened faster than ever before, so that may have been part of the reason for everyone to be caught flat footed. There's also been so many billions spent specifically on vaccine distribution, you really expect people to get this one job right.

Honesty is the best policy in this case.
I do think those on the front lines are doing a good job considering the current situation you are facing.
