oops, forgot the second part! i apply both as a drench around the stump area, and as a foliar feed. depending on how the plant looks, rainfall for the week, and the mood i'm in :) i may only fertilize it once a week. allthough sometimes i'll do it every 3 days or so. it really depends on what your plant needs. if your leaves are a light green, then you can probably give it a little more. if they are dark, then you probably dont' need that much. i know its tempting to fertilize like crazy, but it's probably not the greatest of ideas. if you're soil is sandy it can tolerate alot more fertilizing then if its clay. clay soil tends to hold the fertilizer, while sandy soil tends to leach it out pretty quick. hope this helps,
scott
