Newbie to foliar spraying, I am using the Neptune seaweed twice a week at 1/4 tsp per 2 gallons of water.

What I dont know, the actual act of doing this. I have a compression sprayer and I spray the leaves with a mist until they are dripping wet.

Do I keep going beyond that? Stop before that? I am aplying maybe 1/4 of a gallon for 4 plants, all together about 30 leaves right now.

What is the correct amount in terms of gallons per application per plant? What is the correct amount in terms of spray per leave. Do I spray underside?

Thanks for everything.

I would keep going beyond that..You do not want to store the diluted kelp extract. The benefits to the soil are just as great as the foliar treatment to the leaves. To give it a little more boost you may want to also add a little feed grade molasses to your foliar mix. I use 2Tbsp Kelp and Fish, 2 Tbsp feed grade molasses, and 2 Tbsp calcium nitrate. Foliar sprayed 3 times weekly for 10 plants.

Ditto Shannon's post. But omit Molasses for Potassium thiosulfate & switch Calium Nitrate to Chelated clacium. We're achieving the same basic goal though we supply bacterial food (sugars) a different way. A Miracle-Grow "No Clog" feeder in the feed line just barely gets the job done. Push the whole mess through the sprinklers at 1 gallon per minute over 400 square feet for 10 mintues. So we're applying 10 gallons with 2 oz of each. Needless to say, material does drip off the leaves & lands on the soil.

Thanks guys, that helps me get an idea of how much to apply. Sounds like I need to add some bacterial activates to the mix, be it molasses or chelated calcium. Thanks alot.

I foliar fed mine last week. My mix of Neptune's Harvest fish and kelp was about 2 Tablespoons per gallon of water. Is this too strong?

dont know for certian Doug, but it will depend on "how often" you apply as well. If you are going weekly, I would use about 1/2 that amount. If you are going every 3rd day, about a 1/3 of that
hope that helps
