My plants have three to five true leaves on them. I am drentching with 10-52-10 weekly and they seem to be doing well. I have read that most growers are using either a fish/ seaweed emulshion or a high N water soluable fertilizer. My understanding is to keep up the 10-52-10 till the vines start to run, then switch to high N fertilizer. Should this be applied weekly as well and how much? I have some 31-10-10 water slouable, acid type. Does anybody have experiance using this? My PH is very high 7.8.

I never used any high N. Instead I switched to 20-20-20 Peters, and didnt change anything until September when I stopped fertilizing all together. I think 20-20-20 instead of high N keeps the plant more healthy and well balanced. Another option would be to mix 20-20-20 part for part with the 31-10-10, and that would give you a 25.5-15-15. Tom

Reccomendations are normally printed on the box. Usually about 1 Tbsp/gallon of water. I have seen some listed at 1 tsp/gallon so double checkthe abreviations and go accordingly to the label......another Tom

Ya know, if you start fertilizing early how is the root system gonna develop? By providing the plant with all these nutrients so early, you're stunting your root system. Leave it alone and let the root system have to search for nutrients, that's how it gets bigger and more far-reaching.

I would also work on the Ph with some sulphur...or sulphate products...no use having all the nutrients there if the plant won't take em... Chuck
