I'm almost scared to measure my pumpkin, I've never grown one more than 196lb. Now I've got this one on my Dill 875 that I pollinated on June 24 and its measurements are 54-40-41. It's growning in circumference about 4-5" a day. Is this rate of growth ok? I haven't been fertilizing to much because I am afraid it would be to much growth to fast. I gave it 20-20-20 3 days ago and some foliar seaweed/fish last night. The ground seems a little dry, Would it be ok to give it more water? Not much rain expected here soon. Also I've had problems with the fruit maturing to soon in past years, I have a shade cloth over it but is there anything else you would suggest? Thanks so much, Amy

amy...4-5" in circumference is great!! but, i'd be willing to bet, that if you're ground is dry, that you could probably get a little more out of it if you watered some more. do it gradually, not all at once. it's really dependent on your soil type, the sandier your soil, the more water you can use. go for it!!! scott
