I think I will make up for the deficiency in Ca, Mg and N with foliar feedings. My local lab can do tissue testing in season. Any Ideas how often (weekly, Monthly) and at what dilution I should apply Calcium Nitrate (15.5% Nitrogen, 19% Calcium) & Epsom Salts? I need to know how much to add per gallon of spray. How often should I take tissue samples and should the samples be taken from new growth?

Dave,

I use a chelated liquid calcium (6-0-0 10% Ca) @ 1-2 oz/gal early & 3 oz per gallon twice a week late. These are fluid ounce.

Your 15.5-0-0 19% Ca would be .5 oz early then .8 oz later in the season. These are dry ounces by weight.

I looked around and couldn't find Calcium Nitrate at the local garden center. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Brent, you going to be carrying it?

Brent has chelated calcium.

Tom, I did. It's a funny matter & I'm laboring over my interpretation. I do not entirely agree with the lab.

I'll respond.

I've got chelated calcium. Wanted to get some nitrogen in the soil as well and thought Calcium Nitrate would be a good fit. It's a new patch, and I'm concerned about low nitrogen levels. Any ideas where i can pick this up?
