I'm planning on filling my stump hole with composted manure, but I had the compost tested, and it came back with 736lbs/Acre of Nitrate. Should I cut it with some topsoil? What level of nitrate will burn the plants?
Thanks,
Matt Wickless

Matt, That figure is high. I would cut it 50/50 with older brown compost & hit it with some Gyspum during the backfill which will leach out some salts. That level would drop on its own with spring rains. But why chance it?
