What is everyone using to fill their "stump holes" this spring. Thanks, Ray

Gee Ray, that's a kind of personal question isn't it? LOL

Last fall, I filled with each pit with a 50/50 mix of fresh cow from Faris Acres is Newtown & some 8 year old compost we had here. Each pit held 7 yards of material to a slight mound.

The mounds have settled down & are more or less level now. I want to remound them. I have secured some 10 year old Horse from up around Thomaston. The woman who owns the land wanted nothing more than seeds. This is done. The guy might haul for the cost of fuel only. Though he offered to use one of his 4 yard trucks. I'm thinking to offer him more money if he'll use one of his 10 or 14 wheelers to bring down more.

Or do you have access to a dump truck? All we'd need to do is coordinate with my customer when he has his loader up there. Let me know soon since he'll move fast when the ground dries out.

Are you going to Niagara?

Steve

A tri-axel will haul somewhere between fifteen and twenty tons of manure. By geese you need a heck of a driveway to dump one of those! If it is not almost done composting a pile that size may not be surbanite welcome mat. It depends on line of sight and the sniff of the nose.

I almost got in trouble last fall with a trailer load. With a little help I got it back and out of sight in a single day.
