Hi, Just looking for some input on what people think on Calcium Fertilisers.
This year i was planing to use Joel from Hollands Giants fertiliser program.
On there he lists using Calcium one a week in the program.
I was going to go with Calcium Nitrate and dissolve it in water and apply it that way,
But looking more at the Calcium Fertilisers, i found one that has Calcium and Boron

There are others that have Calcium Nitrate and Boron, but was thinking the extra Nitrogen might be a be much for the plants as it will be getting fish and seaweed also.
So Basically just after people thoughts on the best type of Calcium fertiliser to go with, weather the one that i have the link to would be any good or not.
Any feedback is appreciated.

If you take crushed up eggshells and soak them in vinegar for a long time, until there are no more bubbles, the vinegar will have absorbed the calcium for the eggshells and have plenty for your plant.

Calcium Nitrate is the best for early cooler season delivery. I do not agree with statement of vinegar and eggshells.

Whats the ph of the vinegar/eggshell slurry.That might be real bad putting that on your plant.

Calcium nitrate here also and some Cal/Mag Max for foliar feeding later on in the season.

Thanks for the replies appreciated.
So it basically looks like Calcium Nitrate for foilar and also for watering via a drip system in the early stages of growth, Then when the plants produces the fruit switch over to a Calcium Magnesium mix.
Dose that sound roughly about right?

Holland may be referring to biomin calcium. I assume its a chelated calcium. I am not that advanced the only other thing I can say is that it yeah it might take a lot of eggshells to feed a giant pumpkin plant. If you want to get really technical you could figure out how much calcium your irrigation water has in it. Maybe I could hand this idea to a better grower than myself. Some well water may have high levels of calcium and magnesium already.

Why switch to Mg when fruiting? Mg is for leaf production, not fruit. If anything do it the other way round - Mg nitrate for leaf, and Ca nitrate for fruit.
