If I do a foliar every day made from compost tea, seaweed/fish mix, would that be to much, and cause the pumpkin to split, or, would it be OK?

Depends on many things. What seed, how good is your soil allready, any other fertilizers in use, what concentration, and how lucky are you? That takes ALOT of $$$ and time. I'm going with once a week and I'm still afraid of splitting because I'm using other chemicals also. Good LUCK is what you and we all need. Alex.

:) I know it will be expensive, but the NPK ratio should be like 2-2-2, or less, And my soil isn't that good, this year at least. Next year will be totally different, I will have a lot more OM then this year :)

Some shake-n-feed 10-10-10 that goes away in less then two months it keeps feeding after two months, but not noticable, other then that, no fertilizers.

When it comes to synthetics the plants don't care if it's 20-20-20 or 1-1-1. They all start with the same raw materials. So properly diluted materials can be used twice a day if that's the goal. But dilution is key.

If I were to take my 18-4-6 foliar fert & cut it 50% with water it becomes 9-2-3. If I cut it down again by 50% it becomes 5-1-2 (or there abouts). Etc, etc.

Organics are much more forgiving. But even they have to be moderated in accordance with frequency.

Read the label. If your plan for daily use isn't printed on the label, divide the weekly rate by 7. But when in doubt, check with the manufacturer first.

Just a guess but I bet that 80-90% of the mistakes that giant pumpkin growers make involve doing "too much" and not "too little." The most difficult thing to do sometimes is to just sit back and do nothing. I have learned this the hard way. The original question makes me think about this concept.

with foliar feed very little is needed with as little as 1/4 oz to the gal of water on the Agok-k G P program you use somthing differnt evey day till you get to the next growth stage in its life ---from start--to bloom--to finish --and never letting it rest--

I spray something every day but it is something different and at one seventh or one eighth the minimum rate per weekly application. I feed often but with an eye to being very stingy with the extras. Fish always goes on at least once a week as does molasses. The neighbors accuse me of sleeping out there with my babies.

Kelp and high quality aerobic compost tea go on weekly. Between these two and a third AGRO-K Vigor Cal Phos the pathogens are kept under control almost entirely by leaf feeding....which can be as high as 90% efficient.

When leaf feeding watch the leaves. They will talk to you as you learn how to read strength and color.
