New grower and his soil seems to be severely deficient in some nutrient. I gave him some Urea Mate. Any guesses as this is the first time I have seen this and am stumped. He has heavy clay soil that has a good organic content. It has had compost added

Two pumpkins on one plant or two separate plants

I had one that looked identical and all I can offer is this. Right up until July 23 I had a healthy looking fruit which benefitted from regular feedings three times a week, fish, kelp, mg, CT etc. I was away for the better part of three weeks and during that time the plants only received inconsistent waterings. A second fruit that was round when I left was shaped like an acorn when I got back, co-incidence maybe.

Not enough water to move the nutrients all the way to the blossom end for proper fruit formation.

I have one that is large on the blossom end and small on the stem end. Let me know if you find out.

I think it is excessive nitrogen..Turns out fresh manure was being applied to the plant

The fresh manure might harm the roots or affect nutrient balance? Looks like a root issue to me or the plant just isn't big enough to supply the pumpkins full growth. There can be a lot of bugs and other stuff that isn't great for roots in fresh manure.
