I'm doing some experimenting with seed germination over the winter. I've read that if you soak willow tree branches in water it extracts a natural rooting hormone. I cut some willow branch tips and boiled them in water and put the branches and water In a gallon jug to sit. I soaked some seeds in the water for a few hours and planted them in soil that I watered with the willow water. When the tap root came out it had a cluster of roots coming from it before the shell came off. I've never seen a seedling that just sprouted look like this. Has anyone else ever tried watering with willow water? Here's a few pics
