Unfortunately I have no rain water available and my soil PH is 7.9 and don´t want to upper it more...
What are the disadvantages of lowering the water ph with citric acid? are there any?
thanks for any responses :)

Using an organic acid such as citric acid..... none that I can think of.
Many hydroponic products use nitric and phosphoric acids. Nitric in the vegetative stage and phosphoric at flowering through to harvest.
I have been using 59% phosphoric acid from start and will use it all season.
Drawback of phosphoric could be inhibiting mycorrhizae establishment. Would be good to hear others views on this.
