Hello and thank you for reading this post. My soil test results gave me a concentration of 216ppm (K), and I would like to raise this to the 400ppm recommended by Matt D.

For a 500sq foot plot, how much 0-0-50 do you recommend I add to achieve the 400ppm value?

I currently have: Potassium Sulfate - Sulfate of Potash - Organic - 5 Pounds on hand to ammend with.

Thank you kindly for any recommendations you can give.

What are your Magnesium and Calcium levels at? Cec?

I am new to this, but based on my calculations (if I am doing it right) I get 8.5. The standard calculation is meant for six inches, right? Are the different answers because you are calculating at different depths? For myself, I am thinking of doubling the amendments because the tiller will get it to at least 12 inches.

You don´t need to till it deep into your soil, potasssium sulphate is extremely well water soluble and it will be washed down into the deeper layers of your soil by rain and irrigation very soon. What I would do: apply half the amount now (and till it in) and then apply the other half later (in a month maybe, sprinkle it across the patch, don´t till it in).

Ca: 1604ppm, Mg: 172ppm Est. CEC: 13.66 cmolc/kg

I did add roughly 35lbs Gypsum (Per 500sq ft) to raise my Ca and S (SO4-S: 17ppm) levels.

Did you add 2.5 lbs of Mg or 2.5 lbs of a magnesium fertilizer (like epsom salts)?
