After you have a fruit that has taken. When do you resume fertilizing? Do you begin at half strength or full strength?

Not sure if it is true or not, but I have always waited for 2 weeks after I pollinate.

THEY say, you should hold off on ferts a week before and a week after pollination. Better to be safe than sorry. You want you plant to set fruit.

Kathy, here is a way to find your answers.
Use Google Advanced Search. For this question..I put in "pollination and fertilizing", and put www.bigpumpkins.com in the site or domain area, click search. This will search all of big pumpkins.com and you will find many posts.

It should be two weeks, not one week.

Good Luck.

good tip steveann, it's a little bit easier if you simply type your search criteria and then at the end of it site:bigpumpkins.com in a regular google search it searches only the site that you include after the colon for the words in your search.

Fertilizing with High Nitrogen within 2 weeks eiter side of pollination can (doesn't always) cause fruit to abort.

I rarely use Nitrogen in my sprays so I start normal routines within 5 days of pollination. Like Cecil said, if you are adding Nitrogen stop at least a week before and wait until after Day 10 to resume. Nitrogen is for growing plant, use it early then just enough to feed the plant. I prefer to grow pumpkin.
