What is the general application rate for calcium nitrate? Also when is the best time to apply it? Should I add some this fall when I add manuer to the soil or apply around planting time next year? And finally, will calcium nitrate change my soil PH? Thanks

I don't use the granular form but the growers I know who do apply about .75 - 1.5 lbs per 1,000 sq ft from what I have observed. Never saw anyone weigh a quantity & apply very accurately. LOL
The chelated liquid form I use (Nutri-Cal or Greenflow) is applied at 3 oz per gallon & sprayed to the point of runoff so that both foliage & the soil get some.
