my leaves are loosing color in spots.
spots seem to be dry and are becoming holes.
have treated with daconil.
the leaves, however seem pretty strong and are keeping their posture.
i lost a few secondary vines due to some early cold nnw winds.
my plant is looking much smaller now cause i had to trim the damage. my pumkin(the only one) is 144 incehs ott.
i have only about 45 leaves left on plant but it grows an inch a day in circ.
is their anything i can do to get more out my pumpkin?
my second question is about a vine that seems to be close to the where the main vine comes out of the ground. it grows more or less backwards or away for the main. is this vine supposed to be cut. meaning, does this vine help the growth of my only pumpkin or hinder it.
how important is the number of leaves when it comes to growth.
lastly, is it even possible for the condition of my leaves to reverse iteself and if not do i cut them?
any advice would be great.

My guess would be fertilizer burn on the leaves. As far as the vine goes with only 45 or so leaves on the plant I would leave it on. If you cut off that vine then you will have even fewer leaves. At this time that is something that you do not want to lose right now.

Garden State Pumpkins

If you can count the leaves..I would let some more green get on...the roots are still feeding the pumpkin but photosynthesis is slowed without the leaf count. I could be off base but the conversion of nutrients to sugars for storage in the pumpkin are assisted by the leaves. Someone with more knowledge on this I hope will jump in on this topic...

What the heck? You have nothing to loose. Grab a bottle of black strap molasses. Administer one ounce to a gallon, of foliar feeding every week that remains. Do not exceed two ounces in total per 1000 sq. ft. of patch per week. This will support all kinds of biological improvement with no harsh chemical involvement. Call it a booster. If you do not know where to get cattle grade molasses go to the grocery shelves for the bottle showing the rabbit.

what would be the ratio,,or perhaps ttl amount per plant?
