Divide lbs/acre by 2. 300 lbs/acre= 150 ppm

im not so sure that old divide by 2 is always as easy as that theres alot of soil sites that claim average plow depth per acre of 6-8 inch deep weighs 2 million pounds and they make calculations from that in pounds per acre

My soil sample was done at Va Tech. per Va Tech Soil Testing Lab "To convert from ppm(wt.basis) to lbs/acre the equation is: ppm in soil X 2 = lbs/acre where weight of an acre furrow slice(6 2/3" depth) is assumed to be 2 million pounds."
Unless I'm wrong it seems that each farmer/grower needs to adjust for whether their farm has heavier or lighter soil.
Like Don said check your soil report/lab individually and also know your soil type.

Another formula: PPM x 2.72 = lbs. per acre-foot
