What are people out in BP land using on their pumpkins for fertilizer that is high in potasium? Im interested in puttin on the pounds without blowin it up! What do people believe is a safe number to go with? 0-0-60 obviously is to high for my taste. is something around the 30's to 40's good? Just curious what people are using out there.
Thanks

I think 0 0 60 is safe, it's the amount you use.

Regardless of the xx-xx-xx analysis the real important data is the "nutrioents derived from" statement which should appear somewhere on the bag. I can mix filler with 0-0-60 Muriate of Potash all day & dilute it down to 0-0-50. But that won't turn it into Sulfate of Potash.

I have only one plant. I had a pumpkin develope blossum end rot/blossum end split. It was at 90" circumference-225lbs. I'm not sure if the cause was from excess rain, genetics, or low calcium deficiency. Since I can only control one of these three factors I decided to bump up the calcium level for the last remaining fruit on the plant. I work in a lab and came across a container of pure calcium nitrate powder. I dissolved 100 grams into 1000 mls of water to make a 10% solution by volume. My question is,how much of this solution should I add per gallon of water for a root drench, and how often? 2)How much to use as a towel drench for resting on the pumpkin? 3) How much as a foliar application? thanks for the help. Will
