Does anybody out there give their plants nitrogen during the fruit growth cycle. anybody use non organic source such as urea,ca nitrate etc.

cojoe, plenty of very successful growers use nitrogen all the way til the end.

Western Labs recommends to add during the season several times if your spring test says you need some. They say to apply 3-4 times during the growing season, and to never apply all the recommended amount at one time.
I applied some in spring (pre planting), some 2 weeks ago, and will add some more in mid August. This is my first time to do this so I don't know how things will turn out, but plants look good this year.

I use 4 tenths of an ounce per gallon once a week. 10-10-10 Still have secondarys growing so figure it will benefit some.

I think that keeping the N going will help keep the plants healthier and even resist disease.
