How long does it take for bone meal to break down and be usable to the plant.

Give Bone meal at least 3 months to break down, and thats if it is ground fine, the larger grind will take even longer. An alternative is liquid bonemeal, it is available faster and more effiently, we received a bunch of good reviews this season. Tom

Amelio- most growers are balancing their soil very well, I wouldnt apply an over abundance of phosphorous to the soil unless you know it needs it, as you already know, phosphorous doesnt move in the soil very well, nor does it leech much at all and it would prove difficult to correct excessive levels. Ejab - I havent read anything regarding Bone meal being a natural fungicide, but I will keep researching
