I am pretty sure that I heard somewhere that you should slack off of the fertilizer while you where in the process of pollinating females, and the week after pollination.
should you stop fertilizing to help the odds of a fruit settting or what is the reason for you to do this?
Or am I just hallucinating...

Justin, I read somewhere that after you start to set your fruit you could change to a fertilizer that is as close to 20-20-20 as possible , all I could find was 16-16-21, just started to use it so I dont know if it works or not. H-K-J

If you are setting fruit or getting ready to set fruit,I would cut way back on the 20-20-20 & go with something like 5-10-40. If you cannot find some go to www.fertilegrower.com they can get some to you in 4-5 days.About 6 days before I started pollinating I switched to 1/4 20-20-20, 3/4 5-10-40. I fertilize with a 2 gallon watering can every day & water every spot I buried the stump & all area around. I,ll mix 1/4 tablespoon 20-20-20 & 1 tablespoon 5-10-40 plus 1 oz. each of fish & seaweed in each 2 gallons. right now I am using 12 gallons of fert. a day plus 15 gal. of warm water through soaker tape. It does take a while but I am hoping it is worth the trouble. By the way my plant is throwing out more females than I have ever had before........Paul

I have stopped putting nitrogen on the garden from the advice above from huffs. do you think that the addition of the epsoma 0-0-60 was a good idea or just stop everything. I've waited a long time for these females and am worried that I will lose them! almost august and this is probably my last shot.
