its all good.rabbit-goat-cow-horse. some have more weed seeds in the manure then others though,
thats why i like my manure composted for a couple years when at all possible.
dont count out a good layer of maple leaves ground up and tilled into the soil. will do as well as manure with less chance of bringing in diseases.
green manure cover crops cam also accomplish as much as a coating of manure when tilled in early spring or left to grow. till a few different varities in areas you are resting.
