i tilled in soil amendments on April 13th.how long should i wait to take another soil sample...i'm trying to adjust ph..any input would be welcomed.

lobsta i wanted to congradlate you on you pumpkin last year (condolences on it's demiss) it seem's you are the largest grower of the 1048 cox. well i'm trying it this year for lack of a better seed. (first year regrower). check out my diary and give any advice you think might help.

Most soil admendments take 3-6 months to become efective. Some like Lime, Gypsum can take up to 3 years to become fully effective. I always add my admendments in the fall and then some others that I will need for late in the season in the earily spring. If you tilled admandments in 3 days ago I would say that it will be mid july before you see any great effects. John

i was afraid of that..winter struck quick and i did'nt get the job done like i should have last fall..plus i got lazy..MR T i hope you have as much fun as i did..and even better luck..thanks john
