I have read the post about mycorrhizal fungi. I will be incorporating it in my patch next year. My question just out of curiosity is. Do these manufactures grow the spores or do they harvest the spores from nature? Does the fungus die during winter?

They culture and harvest specific strains. The spores can over winter in the soil, but it is recommended to keep all mycorrhiza away from freezing temps and direct sunlight before applying to soil.

Thanks tom, after reading your post I googled culturing mycorrhizal fungi. I read a academic research result paper that said the root fragments after being inoculated would contain spores or fungi. I wondered if growers should be harvesting, chopping and storing roots at the end of the year and reintroducing them into there soil the following year.
