I can easly get tonnes of the stuff but as my soil is at 8.0 I want to know how, if at all coffee will effect my PH balance? Or any other possible bad side effects. I plan to use it to bump up my OM to 10% it's at about 6% now. Or I will use peat moss which will lower my PH as needed and up my OM only.

Any thoughts appreciated

Worm food both. Compost together with cut grass. Could be ready by vine burying.

I used the coffee grounds during the patch prep this year in the spring I'll add more. I get a ton of this stuff and add it to my compost pile. The Coffee grounds can raise your Ph levels however I have heard that it doesn't add much to your ph due to the fact that the coffee has already been brewed.

As of now I stock pile the grounds getting up to 15 gallons a week. I keep it in the shed in a barrel. I then add it to the compost pile as the ground thaws. The worms seem to love it.I have a facination with Coffee grounds and think it can help.

Just remember that to much of one thing is never good for the soil you have to get the soil tested and then add the amendments. Hope this helps

coffee grounds lower your ph, not raise it, coffee is acidic. takes alot to lower it on a big patch but it will lower the ph over time. worms do love it but you have to add it in moderation to worm bins because it does lower the ph.
