Yesterday, my good buddy Neal, delivered two jumbo loads of aged, cow manure to patch #2. He spread it all out with the manure spreader,(how nice). The patch is 65x65 and the manure is any where from 4 to 8 inches deep! I am a happy man. I know I will have to work my tail off to get it tilled in, but till it in I shall. I just had to share this happy story with you folks, because my wife don't want to talk about it, and I know most of you appreciate good manure.

Manure, nice word. We say "estiércol". All you can find is not enough, if you are not using it today, you can use it tomorrow and will be even better. Let us compost more manure! or let the soil do the job. Grow'em big!

Sorry, but this program doesn't control spanish accents. The correct word is "ESTIERCOL"

uhhhh...just had 20 pounds of Rottweiler puppy dropped in my lap. LOL (hubbys christmas present) Whats with most other gals not liking manure??? I love the stuff. My gardens would never exist without it! It also is great for building up side hills!...and my flower beds love it too! Mind you, I prefer horse....less messy, smelly....etc. There is one manure I do really hate though...... the "liquid" cow and pig stuff. Our next door neighbour saturates the surrounding fields with the stuff and talk about stink! I don't mind the au natural stuff...but this liquid mess ....ugh!!!! Its the stuff that contaminates streams, and ponds. The old ways are the best, me thinks.
