Howdy,
I have read some things about how chemical ferts "nuke" the soil, due to their salts, ect. So I went 100% organic, well my plants looked great (till the damn bugs) but I was wondering if I could use a non-organic foliar just for the nutrients, so I could keep the soil organic? If there would be any advantage to that?
Thanks

HI JIGGS---OK--salts-chloride-silica-are carrier for the NPK for>chem fert ---there are 3 types of NPK ---chemical-- sustainable - or 100% organic certfied----YOU BUGS - you need to get on a sked for bug control---as far as chemical foliar--yep but-- technically the chemical foliar fert will change your soil to chemical soil---so it becomes sustainable soil -- where you could and can be killing your BIO in the soil--craig

Thanks craig, for the great info! I'm going for the best (bio-active) soil I can for the '09 season. Yeah, I've got some ideas for the bugs, didn't mean to confuse anyone with that question.
Thanks again!

Compost...compost...compost....is one of the best soil builders and preventative measures you can take to amend, improve and create that healthier medium for the root zone and all that any plant would want and need to do. Like...defend itself from the ravages of soil-borne and above-ground insect infestation.
Insects attack....weak plants. Super-charging any soil medium with an abundance of "chemicals" is going in the wrong direction. Consider the addition of elemental and natural supplements, slowly over the years, with the regular introduction of composts as tilled-in and mulching the surface near the plants.
Happiness will return for the plants....and for you. It's proven !
