W & A is a crop health therapy program developed by Widmer & Associates out of Gibsonburg, Ohio and has been used on vegetable and fruit crops for several years. It is relatively new in this hobby and consists of 5 components: Nitro Plus 9 + UAN Grow Mix, HM 5-10-27 + minors, Sett Enhanced, Sugar Movers, and Rezist.

Nic, the rate for Nitro Plus 9 is 10 gallons per acre or 1 qt./1000 sq. ft. when soil applied and 5 gallons per acre or 1 pint/1000 sq. ft. when foliar applied. This information comes straight from the W & A literature handed out at Rex's presentation.

Personally, I'd soil apply it only either through drip irrigation or by broadcasting and drenching it in.

Doctor Liggett applied it last year on May 31st at a rate of 1.5 ounces per gallon of water per plant around the immediate growing area(plants are very small at this time of year). Apply 1 gallon of the solution in a 15 foot growing diameter. He then applied it at 3 oz. per plant through drip irrigation on July 8th. Those were his only applications.

Nitro Plus is to be used only until pumpkin set. HM 5-10-27 is to be used thereafter through irrigation.

Hope this helps.......Joe
